Our PeopleOur ExperienceUnited Biofuels has an experienced and operations-oriented team. Our partners bring together over twelve years of practical experience in the energy and biodiesel industry and plant operations, 15 years of chemistry and chemical engineering experience, 20 years in management and finance, and an extensive network in the biodiesel and energy community.Our engineering team has designed and developed several biodiesel plants— including our own facility in York, Pennsylvania —giving our firm specialized experience in biodiesel plant design and operations. As graduates of Columbia University’s Chemical Engineering Department with advanced degrees, we have access to world-class technical and operations experts in plant and operations engineering. Core PartnershipChristian Aucoin, Founding Partner: Prior to joining United Biofuels, Christian worked as a process engineer for Shell Exploration and Production in Louisiana. He has management experience in plant operations and petroleum production platform operations. Christian also has three years of research, laboratory, and chemical production experience from his work with Honeywell and UOP. He is currently a PhD. candidate in chemical engineering at Columbia University. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University. John Cole, Founding Partner: Prior to joining United Biofuels, John worked for Halliburton Energy Services as a field engineer in the Gulf of Mexico and has extensive experience in plant operations engineering. Additionally, John has three years of research experience in chemical engineering with an emphasis on biofuels. He holds an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University and a B.S. in Physics and a B.S. in Chemistry from The George Washington University. Edgar Nanne, Founding Partner: Edgar has approximately two years of experience setting up, testing, and running biodiesel processing facilities. Most recently, he spent three months planning and developing our pilot biodiesel system in a joint venture between United Biofuels and Burger King in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Prior to founding United Biofuels, Edgar worked as a production operations engineer for a chemical company in Guatemala. He is currently in the second year of his graduate studies in Chemical Engineering at Columbia University and holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Fordham University. Nicholas Kukrika, Founding Partner:Nick has over nine years of business and management experience. Having worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Co. in Southeast Asia, the World Bank in Indonesia, and a financial analyst for Goldman, Sachs in North America and Europe, Nick brings a strong business management skill-set to the Company. He has also worked extensively in the South Central Pennsylvania area with local government and business groups to help spur economic development. Nick graduated with a B.A. in European History from Columbia University and is currently working towards a Masters Degree in Public Policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. |
