Biodiesel can be used anywhere diesel fuel is used without any modifications, including:

• Any diesel engines and
• Any oil-fired home heating units

Pure biodiesel (also called B100) can completely replace diesel in these applications, or it can be blended with conventional diesel in any ratio. Typically, consumers use blends ranging from 5 to 20 percent biodiesel, B5 to B20 blends. Biodiesel made to industry specifications will not harm the engine or heating oil burner in any way.
